Hybrid Automotive Service is a Sydney based specialist workshop dedicated exclusively to hybrid vehicle systems. We have operated from our Belmore workshop at 668 Canterbury Road since 2019, focusing on Toyota and Lexus hybrid battery replacement, hybrid ABS pump replacement, and diagnostic services that most general workshops are not equipped to perform.
Hybrid vehicles are a different discipline to conventional cars. High voltage systems, model specific battery packs, and hybrid specific fault codes all require dedicated tools, training, and experience. From day one we chose to specialise rather than treat hybrid work as a side service.
That focus is what allows us to hold model specific stock on site, diagnose accurately the first time, and offer honest advice on whether your battery genuinely needs replacing or whether a simpler fix will restore your vehicle. Our customers include Sydney private owners, rideshare and taxi drivers, and workshops across Australia who freight batteries to their own local mechanics for fitting. Every job runs through the same structured process regardless of whether we fit the battery ourselves or ship it to a partner workshop interstate.
We provide the following services from our Belmore workshop and via freight to workshops nationwide:
We supply and fit new aftermarket and reconditioned hybrid batteries across the Toyota hybrid range including Aqua, Prius, Prius C, Corolla, Camry (40, 50, and 70 Series), Crown, Estima, Kluger, Fielder, Yaris, Vitz, Noah, and Esquire models. Every new aftermarket pack is covered by our 2 year / 100,000 km warranty.
We service the full Lexus hybrid range including CT200h, ES300h, ES400h, GS250h, GS300h, GS450h, IS300h, NX300h, RX400h, and RX450h. Lexus and Toyota hybrid systems share platform architecture, so our diagnostic and replacement processes carry across both marques.
Hybrid vehicle ABS systems are integrated with regenerative braking and require specific replacement parts and calibration. We supply and fit ABS pump replacements for the same Toyota and Lexus range as our battery service.
Before quoting any replacement, we run a full hybrid battery health check including high voltage diagnostic scan, module level voltage testing, and cooling system inspection. Many vehicles that show battery symptoms actually have a fixable issue that does not require a new pack. When that is the case, we tell you.
For customers outside Sydney, we ship balanced, pre assembled hybrid battery packs to your local mechanic for fitting. Every pack is prepared, tested, and packaged for safe transport before dispatch.
Hybrid Automotive Service takes its responsibilities to customers, employees, and the environment seriously. Our approach to responsible business rests on three principles.
Every quote we provide is transparent, and every diagnosis is based on evidence rather than assumption. If a customer's issue can be resolved without replacing the battery, we say so, even when a replacement would be the higher revenue outcome for us. Warranty terms are stated clearly on every product and honoured without argument. We do not use pressure sales tactics, we do not upsell services that are not needed, and we do not quote for parts we cannot actually source.
This approach shows in our long term customer relationships. Many of our rideshare customers return for their second or third battery years later, and many private owners come to us specifically because a friend or family member recommended us based on how we handled their own repair.
Working on high voltage hybrid systems carries genuine risks that conventional automotive work does not. Every technician at our workshop follows strict lock out and isolation procedures before any high voltage work begins. We use insulated tools rated for hybrid system voltages, and our workshop is set up with hybrid specific safety equipment including insulated matting, arc rated PPE, and clearly designated high voltage work zones.
Our team receives ongoing training on hybrid system safety and updates to safety procedures as new hybrid models and battery chemistries enter the Australian market. The result is a workplace that protects our staff and gives customers confidence that their vehicle is being handled correctly.
Hybrid batteries contain materials that must not enter landfill or be handled without proper controls. Our environmental practices cover the entire lifecycle of every battery that passes through our workshop.
Old batteries removed from vehicles are stored in a designated safe area of the workshop, kept separate from active workspace, and protected from moisture, heat, and physical damage while awaiting collection. Storage duration is kept as short as practical to reduce risk.
Every removed battery is passed to certified hybrid battery recyclers rather than disposed of as general waste. Certified recyclers recover valuable materials including nickel, cobalt, and rare earth metals, and safely process any remaining components. This keeps hazardous materials out of landfill and returns useful resources to the supply chain.
Some batteries with weakened but not failed modules can be reconditioned and returned to service, extending their useful life. Where this is a viable option, we offer reconditioned batteries as a lower cost, lower environmental impact alternative to a fully new pack.
